ST. PAUL’S LUTHERAN CHURCH TO HOST WORLD-RENOWNED ORGANIST SEWICKLEY – On Sunday April 28, St. Paul’s Lutheran Church will host an organ recital featuring Ann Labounsky, Ph.D., chairman of the Organ and Sacred Music degree programs at Duquesne University. Professor Labounsky is widely known in the United States and Europe as a virtuoso performer and improviser at the organ. A Fulbright scholar, she studied in Paris as a student of Jean Langlais, immersing herself in the French organ tradition. Her performances have been broadcast over French National Radio, as well as public radio stations in the United States. She received her B.M. from the Eastman School of Music; her M.M. from the University of Michigan; and her Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh. She is Organ Artist in Residence at First Lutheran Church in Pittsburgh. The concert begins at 4 p.m. Light refreshments will be served after the performance. Admission is free; a free-will offering will benefit the music program at St. Paul’s. The church is located at 616 Washington St., Sewickley, PA 15143.
